A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FIRM

AUSTERAS S.p.a. was born in Verona in 1970. At the first, it produced trailers, half trailers and steering axles designed to towed vehicles. In a short time, its activity has expanded to industrial vehicle transformation. The costant research for innovating solutions has gven birth to the steering axle

"LONG LIFE", which steers on bearings called "BALL JOINTS". This axle has become soon a product which is regarded by the biggest firms of industrial vehicles as an axle "with something more".

This is the first step thet has led AUSTERAS to obtain the exclusive right of trasformations of a well-know firm and big shares of other firms. But innovations haven’t finished yet. The research of better solutions has led to the production of the steering axle "BIS", which works in reverse motion like a normal steering axle

but without need of locking.Furthermore, its performances have improved thanks to the introduction of a device named "ELECTRONIC SYSTEM OF STIFFENING" that allows a progressive electronic stiffening

while the vehicle speed increases.

In order to offer a much more complete range of products, and to be in step with the other firms, AUSTERAS has created TRAILERS WITH A CENTRA AXLE (SHER-LEGS) first, and the axle called "ELEKTROBIS" afterwards. The latter makes an electrodynamicturn of the axle by using its own energy.

Finally, AUSTERSAS has invented and produced the system of steering "RETROIDRAULIK" which allows only an hydraulic turn of the steering wheel, without any sort of electronics, and which AUSTERAS has imagined thinking of the circulating vehicle fleet.

In 1997, AUSTERAS attained an important aim which assures the quality of its products, i.e. the certificate by rule "UNI EN ISO 9001".

Through the creation of this web and the link with INTERNET network, AUSTERAS prepares, with a renewed interest, for the new century which will see it as a protagonist in transport.
